If bees are swarming and on the attack: · Run from the site. · Shield head and face from stings. · Don’t jump in water—they won’t leave and you must stay submerged constantly. · Call 9-1-1
If unable to escape, try to cover the nose and mouth until emergency help arrives. The bees are attracted to this area, and usually try to sting there first.
(911 should only be called in an emergency, and not to get answers to extermination questions)
If swarming bees are located, but aren’t stinging, move slowly out of range. They generally won’t begin to sting without being startled, and usually only while near their hive.
Stingers will continue to apply venom to the body, as long as they are piercing the skin. They must be removed without squeezing the venom pouch. |
