· What, Where, When, Why—Be specific when giving the nature of the emergency, where its located, when it happened, and why it happened if needed. Quickly try to prepare to direct emergency responders to the scene. Don’t hesitate to ask others to assist in providing location/directions info. Don’t hang-up with the 911 Dispatcher until you’re told that it’s safe to do so. · Use caution—injuring yourself in the process won’t help the victim(s). · Don’t become an obstacle—clear the way for emergency personnel so they can do their job.
