For Free Disaster SeminarTraining To Focus On Natural Disasters And Terrorism

Although natural disasters are more

common in West Texas than terrorist

attacks, an upcoming seminar will address both subjects and hopefully help county residents to be more adequately prepared, should either incident occur.  The training, hosted by the National Sheriff’s Association and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, is set for Saturday, August 1st, in the second floor conference room of the Abilene/Taylor County Law Enforcement Center.  Participants will learn about  the local potential for a terrorist attack, and the likelihood of a natural disaster’s strike within the county.  Once the potential for an incident is identified, participants will learn how to respond, and how they might prepare ahead of time as a volunteer source in the incident’s aftermath.  A mock terrorist attack involving a local event will also be

presented to the gathering for analysis and feedback.  The program begins at 8:00 am and will conclude at approximately 5:00 pm.  Breakfast snacks and a free lunch will be provided

by the NSA. (info@taylorcosheriff.com)
